DECORATING AROUND THE HOUSE

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

We went to Marks work Christmas party on Friday. Christie, Craig, and Nell made it with their kids. The kids were very clingy with Mark, especially the two little guys who did not leave him alone. Mark had to give out awards and the boys each clung to one of his pant legs. Then Audrey chimed in. They were really pulling him apart! Except when they went traveling. Ian started playing with another family and decided to leave with them. One of the firefighters caught him outside. Graham was missing and when I looked up at the dessert table he was sitting on a cooler at the end of the table eating m&m's out of a bowl. People were just going by him and talking to him. I doubt anyone else wanted any M & M's. No one stopped him from eating all of them. Aud and Graham wouldn't sit on Santa but Ian did. Then he saw Graham crying and you could tell he was thinking"what?, maybe I should not be here" Cute kids. Claire started to hang around some older girls, I so admire how she can make friends.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas

I promised Liz I would post something and I will. Maybe the house decorated for Christmas. Or this really nice new thing I bought for the craft room. I would post something I made but I've been really lazy about that lately. Hmmmmm..

How about writing about work.. no I'm there and even writing about it would put me to sleep.

I have to get a more interesting life.

The picture in the middle was by my DIL, Christie, Everyone loved it. Deservedly so!!!

Inside the Veterans Center.

Mark simulated a playhouse on fire, threw a baby doll in the house and had the toddlers rescue the "baby".

Great weekend, started on Thursday night. Mark and I left Cape Girardeau with our DIL Christie to travel to Tulsa OK. We were attending a dedication at the Tulsa airport. My eldest son is a Captain in the Marines, he is deployed to Iraq right now. So in his stead, we three went to the dedication of a military hospitality room at the airport. The room is dedicated in the honor of a marine in Brian's platoon that was killed by an IED along with two other fellow marines. Also attending this was the lone survivor of the vehicle. I had not met him previously but heard of him through my son. He seemed to live up to the reputation of an very nice guy. His wounds while extremely serious, does not define him. I know the burns and the rehab he receives in San Antonio at the burn center had to be excruciating and would have embittered a lesser man. Although I did not speak to him at length, I observed him and his graciousness and likeability was amazing. Here's to you Cody Hill, you are an inspiration.

We reached home on Friday night and Saturday was spent on projects. The kids and grands were over on Sunday and filled the day with fun and laughter. Enjoy the pictures.
